Vicki Baker Williams

A memorial graveside service for Vicki Baker Williams of Petal, MS, formerly of Itta Bena, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12 at Itta Bena Cemetery in Itta Bena. Rev. Preston Kelly Jr. will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the cemetery.

Vicki Baker Williams, 73, passed away at Bedford Care Nursing Home in Petal, MS on Saturday, March 30, 2024. She was born in Greenwood on April 16, 1950 to Woodrow W. and Frankie Mullins Baker. She was a graduate of Leflore County High School in 1968 where she enjoyed singing in the Girl’s Sextet. After high school she attended Mississippi Delta Community College where she was selected as a Beauty. For a time, after college while living in Hattiesburg, she worked as an administrative assistant at the University of Southern Mississippi. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Itta Bena and enjoyed fishing and working in her flower garden.

She is survived by her two sons, Ion T. Mixon (Deena) of Petal, MS and Mitch Williams (Deanna) of Greenwood; brother, Al Baker (Nan) of Winona; and five grandchildren, Micah Mixon, Morgan Mixon, Miriam Mixon, Haley Williams, and Aubrey Williams. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Wayne Williams.
