Walter Raymond Card, Sr.

May 28, 1929 – December 6, 2023

Funeral services for Walter Raymond Card, Sr. of Winona will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Community Baptist Church near Kilmichael, with burial following in Community Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Jerry McNeer will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Brad Creely, Brian Creely, Brandon Creely, Casey Guess, Corey Guess, and Jimmy Guess.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.

Walter Raymond Card, Sr., 94, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. He was born to William Walter and Drucilla Swindle Card on May 28, 1929. He was a member and deacon of Community Baptist Church near Kilmichael. He was a Corporal in the US Army and served in the Korean War. He retired from Greenville Mill after 36 years of employment and was an avid Ole Miss fan.

Mr. Card is survived by his daughters, Rachel M. Blaylock (Terry) of Conway, AR and Rhonda G. Demoney (Jack) of Madison; son, Walter Raymond Card, Jr. (Jackie) of Southaven; brothers, Douglas Card of Indianola and James Card (Lynn) of Winona; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren on the way and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maeford Harris Card; four sisters and five brothers.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church, 1865 Hwy 407, Kilmichael, MS 39747.

  1. Daddy we love you so much. We will miss you more then we can say. The leader of our family, the glue that held us together. If it was not for the fact that I would see you again, your lost would be to much to bare.
