Funeral services for Wavylon Pullen Cook Orsborn of Winona will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31 in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following at Chapel Hill Cemetery near French Camp in Attala County. Rev. Randy Bridges will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Tommy Golding, Ron Barker, Quincy Cook, Anthony Cook, Collin Barker, and Murry Greenlee. Honorary pallbearers will be Logan Cook, Linken Cook, and Jimmy Cook.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 30 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home; and Friday, July 31 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Wavylon Pullen Cook Orsborn, 92, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at Grenada Living Center in Grenada. She was born around the French Camp Community on July 25, 1934, to Thomas Preston and Leola Youngblood Pullen. She was a retired beautician, who also worked at JA Olson. She also worked her way up to the status of Manager with Tupperware; and served many families working in home health as a caretaker. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary for nearly 70 years and enjoyed gardening and her flowers. She was a member of Community Baptist Church near Kilmichael.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica LaNene Orsborn Barker (Ron) of Grenada; three sons, Glennis Cook (Sandy) of Cedarville, AR, Lennis Cook (Mary) of Baton Rouge, and Thomas Cook of Winona; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Orville Cook; her second husband, Jesse Lee Orsborn; sister, Mary Faith Morgan; and two brothers, Maxie Pullen and Mickey Pullen.

Wavylon made a great impression on me in 1964 when my family rented a home from them just down the road. Self-sufficient, reliable, knew absolutely everything and most importantly committed to her children. I was also fortunate to have met and spent time with Tommy, her youngest son. We were 8 years old at the time I first met them and it was a grand experience. Thank you Mrs. Wavylon and family. Our condolences.
