Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Allen Stoker, Sr. of Grenada will be held Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 3:00 PM in the Oliver Funeral Home chapel, with burial following in Friendship Cemetery in Kilmichael. Rev. Jack Taylor will officiate the services. Serving as pallbearers will be Chad Upton, Wayne Beckwith, Ralph Pullen, Marty Barton, Guy Johnson, and Wendell Stoker. Honorary pallbearers will be Lawrence Braswell and Howie Williams.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Oliver Funeral Home.
Mr. Stoker, 88, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at UMMC Grenada. He was born in Montgomery County to Joe Parker and Margaret Williams Stoker on March 19, 1936. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Winona and was a mason for over 50 years. He was a high school teacher for over twenty years where he taught Agriculture and Industrial Arts.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Daniel Stoker; two sons, David Johnson and Allen Stoker; one sister, Jeanette Smith; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
