
Mr. Wayne Ray McKinney, 77, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Merit Health Central Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born August 23, 1944 in Red Hill, Oklahoma to Charles “Boe” and Ethel White McKinney. He was a truck driver for several years and later worked for Irby Construction, as an equipment supervisor, where he retired in December of 1994. He had a passion for restoring old cars and enjoyed to trade and barter, always hunting a good deal. He loved his wife, kids, and grandkids and loved spending time with them. He was soft spoken, had a huge heart and was loved by all who knew him. He was an avid Oklahoma University football fan.
Mr. McKinney is survived by his wife, Lynda Peeples McKinney of 34 years; daughters, Teri Lynn McKinney of San Diego, CA; Tanya Lea McKinney of Bellingham, WA, and Christal Nicole Howell Chapman of Winona; son, Chadwick Mark Howell of Winona; three grandsons, Tilor James Chapman, Christofer Alan Chapman, and Aidan Mark Chapman; brother, Kenneth Lee McKinney (Sherry) of Port Charlotte, FL; and sister Brenda Carol McKinney Peacock (Billy) of Mendenhall, MS.
Mr. McKinney was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Everett “Charlie” McKinney; and sisters, Billie Lewana McKinney Clark, Ina Belle McKinney Eakle, and Cherly Ann McKinney Richmond.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Winona Church of God. The family will receive guests from 1:00 p.m. until service time in the church sanctuary.
