Zanice Dell Weed Jenkins

October 12, 1935 – September 1, 2026

Funeral services for Mrs. Zanice Dell Weed Jenkins, of Winona, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, at Bethlehem Methodist Church near Winona with burial following in the church cemetery. Mr. Nathan Wright, Rev. Janie Mortimer and Zanice’s grandson-in-law, Dr. Randy Williamson, will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Frank Weed, Warren Weed, Hunter Dees, Allen Cummings, Nathan Woods, and Roger Beardain. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her nephews, John Weed, Allen Weed, William Weed, and Ronnie Lane.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 5, from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Bethlehem Methodist Church.

Mrs. Jenkins passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Vaiden Community Living Center, at the age of 90. She was born to Albert and Julia Colman Weed on October 12, 1935. She was a member of Huntsville Church of Christ near Kilmichael. Later in life, she returned back to the church of her childhood, Bethlehem Methodist Church. Zanice found great joy performing and singing in Hill Fire’s local stage productions. She returned to school at the age of 45 and graduated at the top of her class with a degree as a licensed practical nurse. In her past time, she enjoyed tending to her flowers.

She is survived by her daughters, Joanna Miller (Joe) of Carrollton and Janet Jenkins Dees (Al) of Southaven; son, Bruce Jenkins (Jennifer) of Houma, LA; six grandchildren, Deanna Woods, Allen Cummings, Tricia Williamson, Kelsey Jenkins, Hunter Dees, and Brooklyn Dees Harmon; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Riley E. “Gene” Jenkins; three sisters; and five brothers.
