Angelia “Angie” Green Britton

June 23, 1964- October 21, 2025

Angelia Lanell Green Britton, age 61, entered into her Heavenly home at her residence surrounded by her family on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Angelia (lovingly known as Angie) was born June 23, 1964, in Winona, Mississippi to the late Reverend James A. Green and Robbie Nell Dees Green. She was a 1982 graduate of Kilmichael High School and a later graduate of Mississippi State University. As an educator for the Montgomery County and Winona School Districts, she inspired students of the county for four decades. Her ability to connect with her students not only led to their success in the classroom but also in their personal lives. She often referred to this as one of her greatest accomplishments. She truly loved each student she had the privilege of teaching.

Angie was an avid Mississippi State Bulldog supporter. In her personal life, she enjoyed going to the beach with her best friend, Sherrie. Her sharp wit and sense of humor were a pleasure to all who knew her. Angie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family whom she dearly loved. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Kenny, of forty-three years and mother to her children. Above all, her faith in her Lord and Savior was most important to her.

Angie is survived by her mother, Robbie of Kilmichael; sister, Janie of Kilmichael; brother, Brad (Julie) of Kilmichael; husband, Kenny of Kilmichael;  three children, Kent (Kim) of Naples, Florida, Steven of Kilmichael, and Chasity McDaniel (Tom) of French Camp; grandchildren Harper and Warren (Bubbie) McDaniel; nieces and nephews, Dakota (Virginia Ann), Channin (Wendy), Journey (Austin); great nieces and nephews, Hunter, Braelyn, Emma Grace, and Levi. She was preceded in death by her father, Reverend James A. Green.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, at Winona Church of God. Rev. Danny Rosamond and Rev. Eddie Dodd will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Community Full Gospel Church cemetery in the Shady Grove community of Attala County.

Visitation will be held Thursday, October 23, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday, October 24, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Winona Church of God.

Pallbearers will be Larry Jefcoat, Tommy Blaylock, Benny Steed, Randy Williams, Mike Palmertree, and Carl Wayne Amason. Honorary pallbearers are all of her students she taught along her journey.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Community Full Gospel Church through the Bank of Kilmichael.

She was one of the sweetest people ever, an angel from heaven, she was always so positive and loving, I miss her dearly, when I found out the news I was very heartbroken, she will always be remembered and loved by me and her other fellow students, she was the best ever, I hate that I have to write this because this feels so unreal that she’s gone I just can’t believe it, she was one of the brightest souls ever, I hate that she’s gone, but I know she’s in a better place now and God is washing over her and protecting her, she no longer has to suffer, I’ll always love and remember her.
