Barbara Jean Taylor

March 21, 1949 – September 8, 2025

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Jean Taylor of McCarley will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel. Wayne White will officiate the services. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in North Carrollton. Pallbearers will be James Wright, William Wright, John Coghlan, Tyler Coghlan, Daniel McGrew, and Roy “Bubba” Kelley.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Taylor, 76, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025, at her residence in McCarley. She was born in Ackerman, MS to Claude and Margaret Fletcher on March 21, 1949. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and being outdoors, especially gardening, fishing and camping. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Taylor of McCarley; daughter, Trisha Coghlan (John) of Edinburg; sons, James Wright of Grenada and William Wright (Becky) of Pontotoc; sister, Margo Pierce (Levi) of Petal; brother, Robert Fletcher of Hattiesburg; aunt, Katherine Briscoe of Tupelo; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

  1. Larry, Margo, Robert and family: We are so very sorry to hear about Barbara. She was a good friend and a ” hoot” to be around. We had many laughs and talks while working for Summers Manufacturing years ago. RIP friend and tell Margaret hello from Deborah. Love in Christ until we see you again!
