
Funeral services for Bonnie Sue Bruce Carpenter of Vaiden will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31 at Scotland Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Randy Bridges will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Will Carpenter, Jon Morgan Carpenter, Gwain Jefcoat, Hunter Pigg, Doug Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, and Josh Carpenter.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Bonnie Sue Bruce Carpenter, 83, passed away at Vaiden Community Living Center on Saturday, March 28, 2026. She was born in Carroll County on October 29, 1942, to Millie Thomas and Brown Lee Bruce. She was a retired homemaker and seamstress who loved her family, even when they brought out her “feisty side”. She loved the Lord and the life that he allowed her to live.
She is survived by her two daughters, Connie Jefcoat and Pattie Carpenter (Christopher Massey); her son, Wilson Owen Carpenter (Laura); sister, Greta Boone; Jimmy Bruce (Patricia); six grandchildren, Will Carpenter (Carlie), Jon Morgan Carpenter (Sara Glenn), Paige Carpenter, Gwain Jefcoat (Courtney), Emily Beth Pigg (Hunter), and Lara Laine Silvola; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Owen Carpenter; four sisters, Mary Emma Bruce Lehman, Shangie Virginia Watkins, Eva Lynn Bruce, and Bessie Nell Bruce Fancher; and two brothers, Brown Lee Bruce Jr. and Jerry Layne Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Scotland Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 782 CR 14, Winona, MS 38967.
So very sorry to hear about Bonnie. She was a hard working woman when we worked together. She was always busy with something. Y’all picked the perfect word to describe her. Bonnie was one of a kind. Growing up she was one of us with Jimmy and Jerry. May the Lord bring you peace as He welcomes Miss Bonnie into heaven.
