Charles Hardy “Chuck” McIntyre

December 1, 1953 – June 21, 2025

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Charles Hardy “Chuck” McIntyre on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at his home in Stewart, MS. Chuck, a Montgomery County resident since 1984, was born December 1, 1953, in Jackson, MS, the son of Katie Lee Coker “Pat” McIntyre and Charles Thomas “Mac” McIntyre.

Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Debra. Chuck and Debra were married December 14, 1974. Chuck is also survived by his three sons, Chris McIntyre, Chad McIntyre and wife Kristy, Brandon McIntyre and wife Skyla, all of Stewart, MS. Chuck is also survived by his brothers, John Thomas McIntyre and Gerald Lloyd McIntyre; eight grandchildren, Heather, Hunter, Payden, Katie Lee, Kayleigh, Sarah, Hayston and Hazel Kayte, and great grandchildren, Ellie and Mattie Johnson.

Following a career in foodservice, Chuck joined the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department in 1987. He graduated from the Mississippi Police Academy in 1990 and served Montgomery County as Chief Deputy Officer and Civil Defense Director until his retirement in 2000. In 1996, Chuck helped organize the Stewart Volunteer Fire Department serving as the Initial Chief.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, in the Oliver Funeral Home chapel, with burial following in Milligan Springs cemetery in Stewart, MS. The service will be presided by Brothers Randy Bridges and Martin Jacks. Pallbearers will be Payden McIntyre, Hunter McIntyre, Hayston McIntyre, Jeff Tompkins, Carl Wayne Amason and David Myers. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Bridges, J.D. Beam, Danny Fielder and John Paul Davis.

The visitation will be held Wednesday, June 25, from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Oliver Funeral Home of Winona.

  1. I am sorry about Chuck. He helped me several times while serving as Chief Deputy, and I appreciated his help and his professional matter.
    Brandon, I will not be able to attend visitation because of an appointment. I will be thinking of you and your family.

  2. My deepest condolences to Deb, Chad, Chris, John, Gerald and the entire family. Chuck was a true gentleman and a loving husband and father. His legacy if of a man who placed God and his family first and lived his life with honor and integrity. I admired him very much. My thoughts and prayers and with the family during this difficult time.
