Funeral services for Julia Ruth “Judy” Brisendine of McCarley will be held at McCarley Baptist Church in McCarley at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 26, with burial following in Oakwood Cemetery in Winona. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be John Summerville, Reece Fancher, Elliot Fancher, Buddy Fancher, Wayne McCrary, and Kelly Welch. Joe Preston Carpenter will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be held on Monday, May 26 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Julia Ruth “Judy” Brisendine, “Ru Ru” as she was affectionately known, age 81, passed away at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona on Saturday, May 24, 2025. She was born to Samuel Burdine and Estelle Scruggs Flippen on July 31, 1943. She was a retired employee of Davidson’s Marble and Granite in Winona and member of McCarley Baptist Church in McCarley.
She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Welch (Kelly) of McCarley; two granddaughters, Stacia Fancher (Elliott) of Duck Hill and Sara Austin Welch of McCarley; two great-grandchildren, Charles Reece and Ella Kathryn Fancher; brother, James Burdine Flippen of West Point; and extended family, John and Carolyn Summerville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Brisendine; daughter, Joanne Brisendine; son, Charles Franklin Brisendine; and siblings, Raymond Flippen, Sarah Lafferty, and Willie Paul Flippen.

She was a wonderful person to know.she loved her family and always had the nicest things to say about others. She will so missed my many.Resting in peace!!!!
