Kathy Loftin Permenter

February 14, 1957 – December 26, 2025

Funeral services for Kathy Loftin Permenter will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30 in the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, with burial following in Winona Garden of Memory. Rev. David Cain will officiate the service, assisted by Mr. Tally Noah. Pallbearers will be Todd Burrell, Taylor Burrell, Tally Noah, Leith Loftin, Devin Loftin, Destin Moore, and Stewart Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Michelle Atkinson, Holley Mitchell, Amy Price, and Mandy Jones.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Kathy Loftin Permenter, age 68, of Starkville, MS (formerly of Vaiden, MS) passed away Friday, December 26, 2025, at UMMC in Jackson, MS. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, love, and unwavering devotion to her family and the Lord. Kathy was a gentle soul who always saw the best in everyone she met. Known by all as the sweetest person, her warmth and compassion touched countless lives.

Kathy found great joy in fishing and cherished every moment spent with her family, whether gathered together in celebration or simply enjoying one another’s company. Her love was steady and unconditional, and her presence brought comfort, laughter, and peace to those around her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Eddie Permenter. She leaves behind her children: Dale (Meghan) Stewart, Eddie (Patti) Permenter, and Daphne (Steve) Fulce. Her memory will live on through her grandchildren: Nolan Stewart, Easton Stewart, Chris (Miranda) Permenter, Wil Permenter, Sydney Sorrell, and Brailey Palmer, and her great-grandchildren: Asher Permenter, Ryder Sorrell, and Pacey Wilson. She is also survived by her siblings: Kim (Rita) Loftin, Kenny (Brenda) Loftin, and Ruth (Ken) Burrell; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved dearly.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Laura Loftin; her sisters, Reida Bouchillon and Reba Summers; and her beloved son, Derrick “Bobo” Stewart.

Kathy’s life was a beautiful example of love, grace, and selflessness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

  3. Dale, so sorry year about your Mother. I thought so much of her,she had such a sweet soul. I use to cut all of ya’lls hair years ago. Your aunts and Grandmother, I thought so much of all of them. My thoughts and prayers are with yall. Love yall, Corrine Shute Johnson.
